5. Wipe the ADF pad from top to bottom. Be careful not to snag the

cloth on the springs on either side of the pad.

6. Wipe clean all plastic surfaces, then close the rear cover.

REPLACE THE ADF PAD ASSEMBLY

The ADF pad will wear out and is designed to be a user-replaceable part.

Problems with documents feeding into the ADF is an indication that the

pad is wearing thin.

You received a replacement pad in the original scanner box, and you can

also order a new one. See the “Visioneer Strobe 500 Scanner Parts List” on

page 110 for ordering information.

1. From the back of the scanner, lower the input tray.

Note: Please be careful when cleaning the roller. The roller is designed to

rotate in one direction only. As you’re cleaning the roller, make sure it

rotates easily, and continue rotating it in that direction while wiping it

clean. Do NOT force the roller to rotate in the opposite direction.

Forcing the roller to rotate will damage it, and may cause the scanner to

feed pages incorrectly.
